September 19, 2019 Board of Education Meeting Highlights

  • The Board President introduced Student Board Member Morgan Kraack and administered her oath of office.
  • Mrs. Joyce-Turner provided the Board with an update of the Sullivan County School Boards Association Core meeting on September 16, 2019.
  • Bus Driver of 47 years, Susan Naughton, was our first Standout for this school year. Congratulations Miss Susie!
  • Eagle Scout Lucas Arzilli II presented his project to the Board. Mr. Arzilli will design and construct two book boxes to be placed at the Elementary and High School for the community to share their pleasure of books.
  • The Board approved a Placement Agreement with Livingston Manor CSD for a student residing in the Livingston Manor district to attend school at Sullivan West.
  • The Board approved an agreement with Eldred CSD to merge the Varsity football team with Sullivan West.
  • The Board approved an agreement with the County of Sullivan and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office to allow law enforcement to access the school’s security cameras during an emergency.
  • The Board approved the 2019-2020 Non-Resident Tuition rates: High School student $11,000 and Elementary School student $7,000.
  • The Board gratefully accepted generous donations from the Sullivan Renaissance Group, Lucas Arzilli II and Eagle Scout Troop 106, Sharon Umnik and DonorsChoose.org.
  • The Board approved the appointment of Nicole Mullally, Part-Time Teacher Aide; Joan Conklin, Part-Time Food Service Helper, substitute personnel and volunteers.
