December 19, 2019 Board of Education Meeting Highlights

  • Superintendent Walker provided the Board with an update of the Public Relations Committee meeting held on November 20, 2019. 
  • Mrs. Rasmussen followed with an update of the Policy Committee meeting held on December 16, 2019. The policies were discussed and will be presented at the January Board meeting.  
  • Mrs. Meckle gave an update of the Audit & Finance Committee meeting on December 19, 2019.  
  • The Board approved the Corrective Action Plan in response to the audit conducted by the Office of the State Comptroller (Examination 2019M-196).
  • Students of the Month Jaelynn Franco Cullen & Ayla Hinkley were recognized and 3rd grader Joanne Tesseyman for her attendance achievements.
  • High School student Ben Reeve shared a cyber safety video from the Bulldog Bytes team.
  • The Board adopted the Budget Calendar for 2020-2021.
  • The Board accepted and approved the treasurer’s report, budget transfer, extracurricular report, tax collector’s balancing report and an agreement with Day Automation.
  • The Board accepted donations from the Umnik family, Class of 2025 and Elementary PTSO.
  • The Board approved to excess High School library books and technology equipment.
  • The Board increased the NYS minimum wage schedule and adjusted substitute rates in certain competitive areas effective December 31, 2019.
  • The District welcomes full-time Cleaner Trevor Peters to the Bulldog family and Food Service Helper Kimberly Terpstra.
