November 19, 2020 Board of Education Meeting Highlights

The Board President started the meeting with a moment of silence in honor of Derrick Hanslmaier.

Mr. Arzilli provided the Board with an update of the Facilities Needs Committee meeting held on November 3, 2020.

Mrs. Joyce-Turner provided the Board with an update of the NYS School Boards Association Convention.

The Board President read a resolution in support of School-Related Professionals recognition day, which was November 17, 2020. The Board and Administration appreciate the devotion and commitment of our SRP staff!

Mrs. Meckle gave an update of the Sullivan County School Boards Association Core meeting held on October 19, 2020.

The Board approved the Corrective Action Plan in response to the 2020 Independent Audit conducted by Cooper & Arias.

Superintendent Walker, Dr. Bressler, Mr. Plescia & Mr. Haberli gave a presentation on the new grading practices at the Middle School and High School. The presentation is posted on our District website or please click HERE.

The Board approved various Business and Finance items which included accepting the Treasurer’s report, budget transfer, Tax Collector’s trial balance report, correction of errors and excess of Elementary School library books.

The Board kindly accepted the generous donations from Judith Highhouse and the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters’ Association.

The Board approved the creation of the following clubs: ESports; Agriculture and Family and Consumer Science.

The Board approved coaching and extracurricular positions for the 2020-2021 school year.

Several personnel leave replacements and leaves of absences were granted. The Board also accepted the resignations from Linda Hubert, Teacher Aide and Nicholas Tranchina, Director of Facilities.
